1. What HelperBook stores
HelperBook is a record-keeping app for household staff. On your device, it stores the information you enter: helper names, roles, photos (if you add them), monthly salaries, paid-leave settings, daily attendance marks, money entries (advances, bonuses, extra work, deductions), and monthly settlement records.
All of this lives in a private database on your phone. We cannot see it, access it, or recover it — it is yours alone.
2. What leaves your device
- Nothing, in normal use. There is no account, no cloud sync, and no analytics tracking in the app.
- Crash reports. If the app crashes, an anonymous technical report (device model, Android version, app version, and the technical error trace) is sent to Google’s Firebase Crashlytics service so we can find and fix the problem. These reports never include your helpers’ names, salaries, attendance, or any record you have entered, and they are deleted automatically after approximately 90 days. Crashlytics data is processed by Google LLC as a service provider; see Firebase’s privacy documentation.
- Things you choose to share. When you share a salary statement (for example on WhatsApp), the image goes only to the app and recipient you pick. HelperBook does not send it anywhere else.
3. Backups
Your records are included in your phone’s own Android backup (to your personal Google account) if you have device backup enabled — that is between you and Google, under your control in Android settings. You can also export a backup file from Settings inside the app; that file is saved where you choose, and it is your responsibility to store or delete it. HelperBook never receives a copy.
4. Permissions
HelperBook requests no special permissions beyond showing notifications (if you enable reminders). It does not access your contacts, location, camera, microphone, or SMS.
5. Deleting your data
Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in Android settings, permanently deletes everything stored by HelperBook on your device. Backup files you exported and device backups in your Google account are under your control and can be deleted by you at any time.
6. Children
HelperBook is a household finance tool intended for adults (18+). It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.
7. A note on what the app is
HelperBook statements are private records to help both households and helpers keep a clear, fair account. They are not legal wage contracts, proof of employment, or government documents.
8. Changes to this policy
If a future version of the app changes what data is handled — for example, adding ads, optional cloud backup, or analytics — this policy will be updated first, with the new effective date shown at the top, and the in-app description of data use will be updated in the same release.
